Subversion Integration & a little more

First off, excellent project and great bug tracker. I discovered it a week ago looking for a task & bug management solution for my company. I chose to go with BugNET mostly as a great base to use to add all the custom features that we would need to manage our projects. The main features that I am planning are:

  • Subversion Integration
  • Scrum Management Features
    • Current spring info
    • sprint backlog
    • product backlog
    • etc.

I started the custom development (most of it over the last weekend) and I noticed that I am getting pretty far off from the original that I downlaoded. (7.8.???) which I am now calling 7.9. I wanted to make sure that I gave you (Davin) and the community a chance to take my changes and work with them if you found them useful. The thing is this; I am doing most of the development as a side project in addition to running my dev team and I will not have the time to make everything as generic as may be required for this project. I will not have the time to create patches and actively support the code that I contribute (if you choose to take it). And last, I converted the project to .Net 3.5 and I make use of C# 3.0 features so my code may not be what you are looking for.

With that said, here is a page that covers what I have got done over the past week:

If you are interested in getting my changes or discussing my plans please let me know with a post here, or via email, if you are a moderator you should ahve access to  my email access.

I feel bad that I don't have the time to be a full contributor with my plans, but I will help when I can and I appreciate everyones work on theis project. Good Job!

Re: Subversion Integration & a little more

Hi,

Thanks for the kind feedback.

I had a chance to look at the screenshots and it is very impressive.  It looks like you have done quite a bit of work already and I as I am sure the rest of the community welcome your changes very much.
As with all patches you won't have to worry about supporting or handling the integration of the code if you choose to make it available but if you decide later that you wish to help out that would be welcome too.

I have wanted to have subversion integration included in the project some time now but as it is hard to find time to do everything that you want (or need to do such as bug fixes).

I will let you decide how you would like to make the code available, you can email it to me at  admin at bugnetproject.com or you can add a new issue to the issue tracker and submit it as an attachment.

Any help is better than none and it is enhancements like yours that makes the project better!

Thanks again and I look forward to putting your enhancements to good use in the project.

Re: Subversion Integration & a little more

Thanks,

I will email the code that I have in the next day or two. Then after I get over some of the deadlines that I currentlly have (in ~1.5 months) I should have more time to help out with the integrations or other features. Mostly I want to give back what I can so that projects like this and the many other open source initiatives can thrive and benefit us all.

Re: Subversion Integration & a little more

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if there is anything on this that could be made public? I'd love to get Subversion integration into this.

Matt

Re: Subversion Integration & a little more
Matt: Sorry, But I have totally lagged on getting these changes to Davin. In fact I just emailed them this morning. I can't speak for Davin, but with the lack of explanation and the amount of changes that I have made, it may take a little while to get something worked into the project. Sorry for the delay. Ryan
