CONNECTION STRINGS! someone help who knows

ok my sever is called mediusserver Im using sql 2005 not express database is called BugNET i have not set any passwords. I cannot figure anything out that makes this thing work!!! i get error 40 or error 26, never the install screen. can someone make a connection string for me that will work??? im about to shoot myself over this stuff!!! every problem stems from these connection strings. HELP
