unable to find install.aspx

Hi,

I've tried to install the lastest version of bugnet, followed all the instructions,

Yet after setting the IIS Website to support .net 2.0 and trying to load the http://localhost/bugnet/install/install.aspx I get a file not found error.

if I try to load http://localhost/bugnet/install/install.htm I get the page correctly (the bug logo)

Any Ideas how to resolve this issue?

Hi Kdani,

You need to establish if you are serving aspx pages.

Try going to this URL before you try the install URL.

http://localhost/bugnet/default.aspx

If you can't access that then your ASP.NET and IIS is not configured properly.

Here are the instructions for installing (which I am sure you have read).

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

The server does not serve aspx pages. I've set in the ASP.NET property page to combo box to ASP 2.

There is not asp 1.1 installed on the machine (only .net 2.0, .net 2 sp1, .net 3).

What am I missing ? How can I make it serve aspx pages ?

Hi Dani,

Assuming you are running Windows XP not Windows Vista:

Firstly run this tool to re-install ASP.NET into IIS

c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -u
c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -i

If that does not work then re-create the ASP_NET user account

c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -ga ASPNET

If this does not work read this page:
