editing project categories

in new BugNet when I go to project administration categories tree is always empty. I tried to refresh, nothing happens (still empty).

is there some trick to get it to run?

I'm using code that I checked out from SVN and I start server from VS2005 (using ASP.NET developer server). I don't think it should matter, but it might.

when I rollback to the old version of category editing, the tree is shown fine

I indeed have this problem too but only once in awhile from both the web development server and IIS.

A few questions:

Are you getting any javascript errors?
What browser are you using?

I tested in both IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.7

after I start website and request categories tree it doesn't work for a while, but eventually it start to work.

Maybe ASP.NET is compiling ashx component that supplies data for the tree, but the browser AJAX times out before compilation is finished - shows empty tree? once component is compiled it supplies data and the tree of categories is shown ok for all projects

btw, BugNet version got reset down to 7.0.0.0. not sure if that's by design. I upped it to 8.0.0.0 on my build.

actually, it stops working, so probably this is not a compilation problem, but I'd say it's time out problem... maybe I'm wrong

It does work much more often in Firefox than in IE7. almost never in IE7, but pretty often in Firefox.
