Hi Davin,

many thanks for your reply. I have just tried this and again it errors.

is my understanding of how the system works incorrect?

should the "reporter" be able to view details of any of the issues witin a project that he has been assigned?

I created a milestone with the following data:

name: 1.0
image: none
due: 9/1/2010
release: 9/8/2010
is completed: true
notes: some text

I then select this milestone when createing the issue.

Just can't seem to select it from a lower level roll.

Hi again,

Solved it - it's the Status that needs to have one of the "is closed state" - not milestone. I set the "New" to Is closed state and this cured it.

Why is this? if i set the issue to one of the others after it has been created the error doesn't happen.

i.e
create new issue with a  status to "new" which has the "is closed state"

Reporter logs in and can view the issue

An admin changes it to in progress which doesnt have the is closed state

report can still view the issue

I really meant status, sorry. I am still waking up :)  This is necessary because the reporter role cannot close issues and the application tries to remove the value from the drop down box, if it doesn't exist you get the error that you did.

Hi,

Gotcha, i understand now.

Maybe this is something that could be adjusted in the next release? perhaps a more friendly error explaining why etc?

just a thought :-)

great product by the way!

Hi DarrenW,

I logged an issue about this. BGN-1374 - Error viewing issue detail when no status has a closed flag

Perhaps the Project admin screen should warn you if you leave this status out??
