Some people may have noticed that the issue tracker at support.bugnetproject.com was upgraded to version 0.7.881 that has not yet been released to the public.

The next release is a bug fix release but there are a few more issues to complete that will delay this release for a short while. This combined with the recent Canadian thanksgiving holiday and myself getting ready for a vacation to Scotland has left me with no time to work on the remaining issues.

Expect the new release to be out at the end of the month or shortly into November after my vacation.

User Role Definitions I'm new to this open source project and I am really liking it so far. I've set up a new project and have some users but am unable to find documentation on what role to add the users to. Is there a description of what each role has access to?

0.8 Preview Release Feedback This thread is for comments and feedback regarding the 'http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bugnet/BugNet-0.8-Preview.zip?modtime=1217188522 big_mirror=0'>BugNET 0.8 preview release.

BugNet Authentication question (CS2008) Perhaps this is already easily achievable, in which case please point me in the right direction :) Basically, I would like to use BugNET as an issue tracker for a handful of projects I'm involved in - all of these projects are using Community Server 2008 as their 'front-end' website with a large number of registered users assigned various roles (for example BetaTester). What I'm looking for is a way for BugNET to tap into the CS user authentication and allow users from specific roles access to the issue database. For example, all users assigned to the BetaTester role should be able to add new issues to BugNET, all Contributer members should be able to take ownership and complete issues logged and so on. So I guess the question is; is there a way to point BugNET to use third-party authentication without rewriting too much of the code? Oh, all the CS sites are using Forms authentication btw.

Integration with Visual Studio I was just wondering if anyone has done any work on integrating bugnet directly into Visual Studio? I saw an add-in for Eclipse recently that allowed the developer to view tasks in a seperate pane inside the IDE and then view the details in what looked like a web browser in the IDE. I was looking at Visual Studio's extensability and it looks like it would be possible to replicate the same functionality using the existing 'Task' pane. If anyone has already started something similar please let me know. Otherwise I will probably start a SourceForge project with what I have been messing with the last day or two.

BugNET is awesome! I think this forum is too short on praise for this excellent little system, so here's mine. <img src='/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Fck/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/shades_smile.gif' alt='' BugNet rocks! Chris

Hide some issue-informations from users Hello, is it possible to hide some issue-information from users? We have reporters which are allowed to create entries and read entries but we want not to allow them to read information which is entered in time-tracking because these are the development-times and they should not be visible to testers. Is this possible? Thank Stefan

RSS-Link in Project sumary page Hello, in the project sumary page in the left top corner there is a link RSS. This point to /bugs. When I click it I get an error. Does anybody know how to configure Bugnet to provide RSS-Streams?

Sorry, I broke it. Well I was trying to post a reply to a post in the forums an had to walk away for a bit. When I came back, finished my post and clicked submit, my session had timed out and I needed to log in again. After logging in, on the forum list the general discussion forum has 'none' for the last post and the only thread visible under that forum is the one I was working on. When I tried to view the thread I got an error message.
